akesi

akesi are creatures that are typically cold to the touch. They normally can survive on land, but many akesi also spend a lot of time in water.

Some akesi are slimy, like frogs and salamanders. Some akesi are scaly, like snakes and alligators. The prototypical akesi is around the size of an open hand, but they can also be super large, like dinosaurs and dragons, or super small, like newts and nano-chameleons.

Many akesi stay close to the ground when moving rather than walking upright, and pretty much all akesi lay eggs.

Like other animal words, akesi is a folk taxonomic term, not a scientific one; tadpoles are often described as kala that will become akesi rather than akesi outright.
